We're here!

Juliano and I made it! We and Garfield came out last Tuesday, Garfield sadly left Sunday :( and I started class on Monday. So far, so good. Garfield - and his parents - made my arrival SOOOOO ridiculously easy. His parents furnished my entire apartment with flea market and garage sale finds, and Garfield helped me get everything settled and cleaned in my apartment. While he was still here, we spent days walking around Hyde Park at all times of the day and night to get me used to the neighborhood and living in an urban place (omg it feels like such a *city*! It's a trip). We also took the trains and metros together at various times, and also got experience smuggling Juliano everywhere :) We're super good at it.

Having Garfield here the first few days was *wonderful*. His presence helped a lot with my getting comfortable and ready to go as quickly as I have. We had a lot of fun, and I'm definitely already counting down the days until his next visit. His parents were also *hugely* integral to getting me set up. Soooooo thankful!!!

I'm already swamped and frantically trying to fit in Juliano walks, yoga, swims, and reading-reading-reading - and the quarter hasn't even officially begun! Right now I just have one class, for two weeks, then I start my other two classes at the end of September. My program starts two weeks early, just to get us acclimated, bonded, whatever. I'm meeting cool people, I've met dog people in the parks during our walks . . .

I really need to be working on some readings and a writing assignment right now, so I apologize for the slightly unimaginative post. I just wanted to get something up though and let you all know that I'm already quite busy but also doing quite well.

  1. No one has posted on your blog yet? For shame friends and family! Shaaaaaaaaaaammmmmmmeeeeeee!

Yay pics! I bet Juliano is having fun with wild life and actual green grass. I'm glad moving in went ok. Making a move like that is always stressful. Good call on the flea market furniture too, that way you can just throw it away in a year when you are done and not worry about it. I won't ask about the amount of clothing used in preparing the pancakes..........I'm not sure who reads this blog........

PS: Forgive the delete and reposting, trying to figure this interface out still.
