So here are the final results of fall quarter:
Core course: B+ (B+ on my final paper)
Cultural Policy: A- (I still haven't gotten my final paper grade)
Chronicles of Violence in Latin America: A (A+ on my final paper!!!)
Now I'm working on my MA thesis research, which is focusing on the text Wise Blood, by Flannery O'Connor. I'm a little nervous about focusing my research on a text that is oh so impressively Catholic - I just worry that the analysis will be narrow? Like, how will I add a new dimension to understanding the text? I ended up just kind of choosing the book at random; random decisions make me nervous. I'm hoping it all works out.
Oh yeah, and I need an adviser still too. Eek!
In other news: I'll be applying to four different full-time English teaching positions at bay area community colleges. I really hope it goes well! Although the reality is, it's *super* competitive out there and I have to be thoroughly researching other options now too.
I'll try to update soon with more details about how vacation has been and post some pictures. In summary though: vacation has been very good - *very* needed! I really needed those 2.5 weeks in California. Being back in Chicago now, I feel way more refreshed than when I left!
Happy holidays, everyone!
