Getting ahead

This weekend has been about starting my push to get ahead in preparation for Garfield's visit in 11 days. Still, I managed to have Zohar and Elana over for pancakes again (I invited my whole precept, but either the rain or my disagreeable personality kept them away), and we talked and hung out until the middle of the afternoon.

It's decidedly autumn here; and I have to admit, I've been charmed by it. There's a poetic beauty to the feeling of the season. I'm enjoying it while it lasts, because *all* I hear about winter is how *brutal* it is - even in the opinion of those native to Chi-town.

Picture of the day: Juliano's life, in a nutshell. Yes, he frequently gets in silly contorted positions like this while he's lounging, although not all the time. This is his couch, he sleeps on it all day, except for the hour+ that we walk everyday, in which case he is very prance-y and very proud of himself as he pees on everything he possibly can and chases little dogs and barks at kids on skateboards. He also comes to precept and social hour on Fridays, in which case, he's busy getting pet by *everyone*, scavenging for food, and chasing the shit out of squirrels all over campus (it's the only time I let him do it because the grassy quads are blocked by buildings on all sides).

And now I need to get back to reading about Freud's thoughts on infantile sexuality. Yes, it's as awesome as it sounds. There's nothing like associating kids' sucking their thumbs with adult sexual activities and perversions. Oh wait, that's right. I'm taking a break from Freud to read about "the romance and despair of the Cuban Revolution". After that, *then* I get to go back to Freud. Yay.

  1. You probably scared them away with your personality again Sandy. We all know how Emo you can be. :P

Autumn in the mid-west is definitely different than autumn in CA. Seeing the trees change and looking at all the lush reds and purples never gets old IMO. Oh! Speaking of weather, there's been sky water all day here in San Mateo. IT'S SO WEIRD! :P

You should label your picture "Squirrel Chaser in Repose."

.........Freud is one weird dude. He makes me feel "normal." Yeah, he did a lot of great things for psychology, but he was also really weird.
