Yesterday was actually sunny and warm - I didn't even need my sweater and scarf! And there wasn't even a chilled breeze. It was nice for a change. Looks like today is going to be warm too; but rumor has it that days like today are *seriously* numbered. Speaking of, I got an email from the residential office about their heater policies during the winter - like, don't leave your window open except for limited amounts of time while you're in your apartment etc . . . I'm scared. Even the people that have lived through "real" winters freak me out and tell me how horrible Chicago winters are.
Ug, okay, anyway, I digress. Guess what?!?!?! Garfield's coming tonight!!!!!! I am SOOOOO excited! He's coming at ass-A.M. which is lame, but otherwise I'm very excited. He'll be here through Monday evening. Guess what else?!?!?! I worked my butt off through the weekend and finished all of my reading through next Tuesday, meaning I have *nothing* to do while Garfield is here :) I am *stoked*. I have a surprise planned for him on Saturday, to celebrate our 6 monthaversary. Once he finds out, I can tell you all the awesome details.
Everything's going really well. I really like my classes, I've got a good routine going that's helping me stay on top of everything - I'm even sleeping regularly, swimming four times a week, doing yoga once a week, and walking Juliano at least an hour a day, usually 1.5 hours. And I'm making all my meals at home. And keeping my apartment tidy - laundry put away, dishes done every night, bed made every morning, Juliano groomed once a week . . .
Um, what else? All the precepts are having an Iron Chef-esque competition during social hour tomorrow - pot luck thing, every precept has to bring two dishes and there are prizes for different categories. One of my precept mates is certified by the Cordon Bleu in Paris, so obviously we're going to win. Today after class we're gathering to watch him to cook - because he informed us we're not allowed to help because everything (even chopping) has to be done a certain way. But he appreciates moral support.
And then I go to the airport! And right now I have a Skype date with Ana, my good friend from Spain, so this is it for now.
I'm sure you'll do fine over the winter. Cold is temporary. :P
ReplyDelete6 month anniversary? Wow, G is really bad. He didn't even tell us or mention it. I'm going to have to read your future blog posts to find out what's going on. Maybe he's talked about it with you so much while he's on the phone around us that he thought we overheard it. :P
How are you doing all those things? Are you Super Woman or something?
Wow, a certified chef. That should have been fun. I guess he would be picky about things even like chopping. Should have been interesting to watch.
